In Bangladesh's Meghna River Basin, where wetlands have declined by over 50% since 1994, AI systems are now integrating satellite and drone data to monitor ecosystem changes that traditional methods couldn't capture. This technological bridge connects atmospheric observations with ecological patterns and community needs, enhancing flood predictability while revealing connections between local wetland conditions and regional climate resilience. The innovation arrives as global wetlands continue disappearing at 0.52% annually, with over 411 million hectares lost since 1970.
