# Ruth Anne Bridwell

[Read on the website](<https://anchor.is/groundbreak/team/101>)

Ruth Anne Bridwell grew up in Rockford, Illinois, watching the machine-tool industry contract around her family. She studied economics at Northern Illinois University and started at the Rockford Register Star covering municipal government — bond issues, utility commission filings, zoning variances.

Stints at Crain's Detroit Business and Plant Engineering magazine gave her a national lens on supply-chain economics and OEM location decisions. A research fellowship at the W.E. Upjohn Institute sharpened her framework for connecting factory-floor realities to regional economic strategy.

She writes for practitioners, not audiences — declarative, numerically specific, and built for extraction under time pressure.
