Everything below is the monitoring infrastructure that makes those five actionable and surfaces the next five when the window opens.
A note on the filter. Private company valuations are private. Revenue at this stage is almost never disclosed. I used Series A/B stage tags from VC portfolio boards as a valuation proxy, staff counts under ~500 as a scale check, and enterprise or regulated customer bases as revenue inference. Two companies in the initial pool, ElevenLabs and Kalshi, carried Series A tags on VC boards despite confirmed unicorn valuations. They're excluded. Approximately 8–10 companies on this list likely exceed the $100M valuation threshold based on headcount and stage signals (Eve at 314 staff, Maven at 304, Formation at 313, Pomelo at 381, Titan at 447, Uniswap at 249, among others). The monitoring universe is what you're getting. Precision on any individual company's cap table is impossible from public sources.
A note on ATS timestamps. Ashby's public API exposes publishedAt dates, which I treat as original posting dates. Greenhouse exposes updated_at timestamps, which reflect the last edit, not the original posting. When I cite a Greenhouse date, I flag this distinction. No ATS timestamp is perfectly reliable. Postings can be refreshed, cloned, or reactivated without changing the URL. I cross-reference posting age with company hiring velocity and role-title patterns to assess freshness.
A note on signal readiness. Only one company in this entire 100-company pool has an active Director+ design leadership posting: The Believer Company, a game studio in Los Angeles, with a Senior Design Director role posted March 21 (111 days, stale). That's the landscape. At this company tier, leadership searches are rare, brief, and mostly invisible from public signal. The monitoring value is in detecting the precursors: IC design clusters, founding designer hires, executive arrivals, and product milestones that predict a leadership search 4–12 weeks out.
How the verdicts work.
- Act — a verified, live ATS link exists for a design-titled role fresh enough to pursue. Move this week.

Staleness rule. Postings under 21 days old are fresh. 22–42 days is the extended window. Over 42 days is aging.
