The Document
Pursuant to Bylaw 12.7.3 (revised August 2033), the following provisions apply to all outdoor athletic activities under District jurisdiction, effective 2033–34.
Outdoor practices, conditioning, and competitions are permitted only during approved atmospheric windows: before 0700 or after 2000. Wet Bulb Globe Temperature must be recorded on-site thirty minutes prior to activity and at thirty-minute intervals thereafter. Activity shall not begin or continue when WBGT meets or exceeds 90.0°F. Between 86.0°F and 89.9°F, activity is limited to sixty minutes with four supervised rest breaks of five minutes each. No protective equipment may be worn above 86.0°F.
By signing below, parent/guardian acknowledges the inherent risks of outdoor athletic participation, including exertional heat illness, and affirms that the District's compliance with applicable WBGT standards constitutes reasonable protective action. Parent/guardian holds harmless the District, its employees, and agents from claims arising from participation during approved atmospheric windows.
